Research Focus
JCRI is focused on investigating the effects of Cold Atmospheric Plasma (CAP) on cancer biology. This includes determining the role of CAP in the selective elimination of various cancer cell types including, pancreatic adenocarcinoma, renal adenocarcinoma, cholangiocarcinoma, breast cancer, and colon cancer. We are also investigating the effect of CAP on death receptor expression and pro-apoptotic signaling pathways including DR4, DR5, TNF-R1, and FAS. In addition to studying the effects of CAP on established human cell lines, JCRI has had the opportunity to investigate the effects on primary human cells isolated ex vivo.
